Fearghus Ó Conchúir
Fearghus Ó Conchúir completed degrees in English and European Literature at Magdalen College Oxford, before training at London Contemporary Dance School. Companies danced with include Adventures in Motion Pictures and Arc Dance Company. Early works for theatres encompass Vespers (2001) Tearmann (2003), Sulán (2003), An dá thrá (2004) and Cosán Dearg (2005).
Fearghus has recently been developing work outside of theatre spaces. As Artist in Residence for Dublin City Council, he is making work that investigates the relationship between bodies and buildings, particularly in the context of urban regeneration. Current collaborations include a public art commission, together with Dan Dubowitz, for Fingal County Council, that imaginatively reconnects the neglected Martello Towers of the county’s coastline. Fearghus was a recipient of the RTÉ (Ireland’s national television station) inaugural Dance on the Box Commission, for which he created ‘Match’ with director Dearbhla Walsh.
Matthew Morris:
Upon graduating from Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts Matthew worked for several years in the late 1980’s with West Australian Ballet and the Chrissie Parrott Dance Collective. In 1992 Matthew travelled through India on a sabbatical before heading to Germany to dance with Ballet Theatre Hagen. He later went on to Switzerland and worked with Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve for three years.
In 1998 he then relocated to London where he started his career as a freelance dancer.
In 2001/2002 Matthew returned to Australia to work with Australian Dance Theatre on Birdbrain and The Age of Unbeauty. Most recently Matthew toured the UK with Theatre-rites’ Mischief, a theatre piece for ages 7+ that incorporates dance, theatre, puppetry and live music. He is currently based in Berlin, Germany where he is pursuing new projects with European artists.
